Hot websites

I stumbled upon two websites recently that are truly amazing. The first Lost at E Minor puts my senses into overload. Focusing on art, design, lit, fashion and film it is a one-stop-shop for inspiration. Located in Australia and New York their reach is an international one that finds things that excite the mind and spirit. http://www.lostateminor.com/

The second is a cute wedding/fashion blog called Perfect Bound. Such great ideas can be found here for us classic girls with a twist. My fave..the grey and red inspiration boards and the letter press invitation ideas. www.perfectbound.blogspot.com.

I have finalized our save the dates and will be mailing them as soon as the groom-elect gets me his addresses. I will post it for all to see once the mailing has been completed. I can say they are black and white with a toach of coraly orange. It is hard to describe our theme/feel for our wedding. Pretty in the City maybe??? I will have to think about that one.

Happy Tuesday!!

The Devil Went Down to Georgia….

Satan has arrived in the form of a Kate Spade outlet store at the North Georgia Premium outlets!!!! We took a visit there on Black Friday and had a blast. I scored a fine new purse/Christmas gift from my mother there. I had the option of Kate or Coach which is surreal to me. If you had told me when I was in high school, “Just wait, when you are an adult your mom will buy you overpriced handbags for gifts in the future: I would have never believed you.

Coach was packed full of people. They have moved to a larger location but that just means more people are crammed inside. They had a mega sale going on! She picked up a bag for herself and one for my sister-in-law that were an additional 40% off.

Banana Republic had their entire store on sale at 50% off. I picked up two beautiful pear necklaces that will go great with my outfits I am taking to St. Thomas. Also, I found two great dresses at BCBG for $39.00. Tis the season for great gifts at great prices.

We were not alone in our successful hunts for bargains. Everyone was weighed down with bags upon bags. It will be interesting to see how well the retail community fared this weekend. I think if they keep up sales like these this holiday could be a bright one.

Mystical…

I woke up too late this morning to catch CBS Sunday Morning(sadness) so I began to channel surf. I ended up on Encore Drama and one of the cutest 80s chick movies, Mystic Pizza. You can’t beat female-angst-in-small-town starring Julia Roberts, Annabeth Gish and Lily Taylor!! Another reason to watch the movie..the town of Mystic itself. Several years ago I spent the week there for my job and it is beautiful. New England is beautiful but this town is so cute and picturesque as soon as I saw glimpses of it in the movie I was dying to go back. The images you see in postcards and travel magazines could easily have been taken here. Not only is there much to see, there is even more to eat and so.

I visited during the summer and spent many an evening at the Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream Shoppe. Located right on the water just before the town’s old school drawbridge. All of the ice cream is handmade and is amazing!

Yes there is really a Mystic Pizza. You can actually by them frozen at the grocery store or if you get the chance to visit Conn. they now have two locations.
My days were spent looking forward to the next meal. Lunches consisted of grinders, sub sandwiches for you not familiar with New England speak. Dinners were always seafood followed by walks thorough their quaint downtown area with stops in shops that sold everything from paintings to glass art. Summers are filled with music and art festivals and from what I can tell winters are pretty kick ass to. Visit http://www.mystic.org to learn more about where to stay and what to see.

Where do the days go….

My social calendar is non-existant this month as my life/work calendar has taken center stage. I am in the middle of organizing crew, script, and speakers for my first work related video shoot that I will produce/Organizing two junior wheelchair basketball teams/Organizing my wedding guest list!!! But beyond all of that many good things have happened….

1. Bridesmaids dresses were decided on!

2. We decided on our caterer… http://www.endiveatlanta.com/

3. Our photographer…http://www.thelongfarewell.com/

4. Our colors….coral and orange

Joe is taking it all in stride but I am so happy to have so many things crossed off the list. I look forward to sending save-the-date cards next month. Next monday I have an appointment at Papyrus papers at Lenox to look at invitations. Honestly I may end up being my own crafty girl and doing them myself. I have found some beautiful ideas on http://www.paper-source.com/. And so many options in our color scheme.

I couldn’t have a better batch of bridesmaids. Here is a pic of us having drinks after our experience at David’s Bridal. They are so awesome, bright, funny and willing to help. Sybil is such the planner. She has already stated that if we are going to do the center pieces ourselves we better get cracking on them by having random crafty weekends. I sure our works of art will be beautiful. Hopefully all of the guests will enjoy them.

I hope that during the month of December, Joe and I will have more snuggly on the sofa time. There are so many things penciled in on my calendar but nowehere is “Me”.
