A Few of My Favorite Things

Material things are just things but we all have our favorites. I have been meaning to photograph some of my stuff and put the pics online to show off some wonderful crafts. Here goes:

I got this zombie doll at my favorite store in St. John, USVI. It called Caravan Gallery. I usually buy jewlery from them but when I walked in and saw this doll I had to have it to add to my collection. www.caravangallery.com. Notice the stitches on her forehead. What you cannot see is the red thong underwear that were drawn on her with a Sharpie!

I picked up this owl at this years’ Chomp and Stomp festival in Cabbage Town. There were several nice craft vendors there. I also found some cool magnets with airplanes on them for Joe.

This little kitty is from my first trip to St. Thomas. I call him voodoo kitty but he is actually kind of pirate looking. The mis-matched eyes are great.

This isn’t hand made but I love it! Joe bought me this ceramic version of the famous NYC coffee cup for Christmas. It dosen’t have a handle and can get hot to the touch when you actually have a drink inside but I love it just the same.

Ribbons, Stripes and Inspiration

In surfing the web I have come across so many things I would like to re-create at our wedding. There are so many ideas… I think my head will explode. Here are a few:

I love stripes. This is Kosta Boda’s Cyklon vase. I have to wrap a few of my vases like this! The Cappellinni striped chair is too cute.

More cute vases. The fish bowl idea is wonderful and so simply beautiful. These arrangements are from Jayson Home and Garden.

I saw this use of little pots and moss on theknot.com. How darling would they be at our tables??

Save The Date!

Joe and I prepared our save the date cards last night. It was the first preparation thing we have done for the wedding and I was excited. I did them myself and incorporated the above photo of the midtown skyline. I will be placing in the mail in January and am so excited for people to being planning to be there.
I am currently researcing invitation wording and trying to find little flags that can be stuck into our cupcakes at the reception. I am really thinking about Joes analogy of us as being the flag and the pole and want to incoporate that somehow.
We are now at 164 days till the wedding and I feel extremely behind. I guess it is the maniac in me!!!

Getting the Hell Out of Dodge!!!

I am offically on vacation. To quote my dear friends Alicia…”My give-a-shitter has broken!” More like I turned the damn thing off.

As I look out the window at the midtown/downtown view I realize I love this place, but dang it’s been cold lately. To the beach I go! At this time tomorrow I will be partying with the current Mr. and future Mrs. Victor Stopeck in St. Thomas, USVI. This vaction is long over due. I am in need of a button resetting and that place surely does it for me

I will take my small notebook with me so I can capture all the embarrasing quotes I love to take down and post them everywhere to make fun of the people who’ve said them.
