The Weekend…

Was great…even though it included a bad tummy ache on Saturday night/Sunday morning. Saturday we had friends over for St. Patrick’s day cheer. It was rainy and cold but we all braved it. We took MARTA down to the parade then hit Side Bar which was not serving their all you can eat corned beef. I was NOT happy. But anyway. We then went back home for some Guiness, chocolate mint cheesecakes (thanks Nicole), and much Guitar Hero world tour. I got so many awesome birthday cards from my mom, friends, and clients at my job that Saturday was the perfect way to end my birthday celebration.
Sunday I got to have dinner at my favorite fatty place, Mary Macs Tea Rooom, with my brother in law Victor and his wife Natalia. It was my first time meeting her and she is so sweet. They are the proud parents of Victor Junior. The cutest little big man ever.

In a supreme move to secure my place as biggest loser ever I purchased the Grey’s Anatomy video game for my Nintendo DS as a birthday gift to myself. Never let it be said that I didn’t dork out during my life!

38 and Counting

Yesterday was my 38th birthday and it was such a great and productive day. Not only did I have flowers and a handwritten note greet me when I woke up (thanks Joe). I had tons of handmade cards from the clients at my job, a big piece of cake from my boss, fun drum time on Guitar Hero World Tour, and an awesome dinner at Tap. Do I feel older? Heck no! Didn’t you just read I spent time playing my new favorite toy? Do I feel smarter? Yes a wee bit. I think in my 20’s I made mistakes not knowing that they were wrong decisions. Now in my 30’s I am fully aware of the stupidity of my actions. My ignorance is deliberate.

I did a search to find some other cool people born in 1971 and the list rocked! Here they are with some cool things they have said:

Minnie Driver-actress

Winona Ryder-actress and part-time criminal

Lance Armstrong- athlete and Cancer suvivor

Ewan McGregor- star of Trainspotting and Star Wars, “I’m just looking for that moment to drop my Jedi knickers and pull out my real light saber”

Christina Applegate-actress, “How do you survive Christmas? You drink a lot and drink a lot.”

Shannen Doherty-“actress” I use that term loosely, “It’s better to be the rejecter than the rejectee”

and last but not least

Matt Stone, creator of South Park, and voice of three of the shows characters(including Butters pictured above). Allow me to show proof of my generation’s brilliance by quoting Mr. Stone…”You can make fun of everything.”

70 degrees and Sneezy

It is a pretty, sunny, 70 degree, Saturday here in Atlanta. Not bad considering there was snow on the ground on Monday. I, it seems, have a yummy sinus infection ( I will spare you the green details). I think sitting with my face in the sun (with plenty of sunblock of course) will make me feel loads better. I am sure it will work for you too. Get to a patio and get a drink in your hands pronto!

Quick bites…Food news.

1. I ate at the Standard today for the first time and it was really yummy!
2. Over lunch at the Standard I learned that 97 Estoria had completely changed its kitchen and is now only using fresh ingredients. NO CANNED!!! Not that the food was terrible before but now apparently now it is amazing!
3.I go to DC next week and the guy I am going with is all about the food there. He has our entire eating schedule mapped out. We have sceduled business around all of the food. Did I mention he is the President of our company?
