Oww My Aching Legs

3 miles is the new me.

I am the new three miles.

I have reached the five pound mark on my goal to losing 10 pounds. It has not been easy but I have gained a bit of endurance during these 4 weeks. Most importantly is my distance numbers. Yesterday I met Janin at the park and we did a little over three miles. Running 5 minutes and walking 5 minutes. The day before that I did three miles as well and I am officially proclaiming it my new standard.

I need to decide on what my day of rest will be. I know that you should give your body a break and not completely wear it out but the end of work out rush combined with the results on the scale are hard to ignore.

My next purchase will be the Nike+ to track all of my miles and speed. Click here to read an awesome article on living by the numbers and how personal metrics following is a great way to stay motivated in your health goals!

Quit Getting On It.

The scale is that which I am referring to in the title. I always want to geton the dang thing and as they say a watched pot never boils.

I have been pretty good in my quest to lose a few pounds. This Sunday was not easy I must admit. I had burned off a lot of calories early doing yardwork and thought, “Hey I can get a Happy Meal, they are only 400 calories.” Little did I know there would be a keg at the baby shower later.I was expecting pastries and finger sandwiches not yummy beer! And thus man was the architect of his own demise. At the end of the day, after I entered in all of my bad foods into my Lose It program I had over shot my allocated calories by 995. Yikes! Yesterday I ate small very lean meals and worked out which resulted in my being under my allocated calories by 775. It is all about balance it would seem.

My goal this week is to not go over on any of my days and to stay away from the scale. My weight goal is to lose 10lb. I am currently at 3.1 lbs lost. Pray for me.

My iPhone Told Me Not To

Shortly after the wedding Joe and I got iPhones and my world has been different ever since. Mainly because of the app called Lose It. Imagine having a little man in your pocket asking, “What did you have for breakfast? What did you just eat” and you answering him each time. When you answerd he put the calories up on the screen, kept count of all of them, then told you when you had reached your limit for the day. It is so amazing it even knows the calories for all types of physical activities..even nookie! I love this freaking thing. I am currently at 2.9 lbs lost and I look forward to September 12th when it says I will reach my goal as long as I stick to the plan. 1,611 calories a day and a bit of exercise.
