39

Who are these people who say that they are 39 and holding??? Why are they holding on to 39? As of 7:30something this morning I am 39 years old. And next year I will be 40. I will not be 39 for the second time. Or 39 + 1. I have always been proud of my age and the fact that I do not act it. One of my volunteers at work thought I was 29 not 39. What can I say people, black don’t crack.

I can’t give all of the credit to race tough. Maybe it is the beer that I enjoy drinking, the comic books(graphic novels), The Family Guy/Simpsons/American Dad/Cleveland Show, the fart jokes, the kickball team(spring season begins next week!!), the fact that I still laugh really loud when people say the word ‘duty’, Rock Band/Guitar Hero, weekly trivia, Mexican food….who knows. Maybe it is the fact that I have an amazing husband and awesome friends who enjoy all of those things too. Don’t know, don’t care, just doing it!

Thread and Canvas !!!

The Thread and Canvas event Saturday morning was amazing. If you don’t know what it is here are the details… Two ladies have gathered local artists and crafties and sell their things. My former coworker Nadine Boado is one of the organizers and the group of artists she and Shannon Johnson have gathered rock! Although I could not buy everything, even though I wanted to, I did pick up a cute navy and cream cowl neck wrap done by Shannon herself. Other faves that I must have are the Space Invader Statement Necklace by Kristina Dutton, tiny head scarves by Homemade Grits, and the ATL necklace by Bou Cou. As one of their first 40 customers I also got a gift card to Red Salon for $25.00 off an appointment with Erin Sellesky. I have not had a bonafide cut to my hair since high school big bangs so we shall see.
According to Nadine the nest show will be even bigger and I plan on bringing a few friends and my mom along. Visit them and become a friend of the event at their Facebook page by clicking here

Happy Sunday

Joe and I spent our Sunday morning at the brunch buffet at the 57th Resturant at Peachtree Dekalb Airport. We had the coziest little booth and a great view of the runway. I made two trips to the buffet for shrimp, braised short ribs, Gouda grits, salmon, and too much other food. The photo above is of beer cheese soup, applewood bacon, and Belguim waffles with homemade whipped cream. Of course champaigne is included. The price is $25.00 per perspm and includes all beverages It was my first time at the restaurant but will not be my last!!!
