This ride…

Joe, Aaron and myself spent last most of last week at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Hospital at Egleston. Our little one was unlucky enough to have both brochilitis and RSV which is a nasty bug. If you are an adult it is usually just a cold; but in three month olds it is a different story. He spent Wednesday through Saturday having his lungs suctioned free of mucus and receiving oxygen and IV fluids.

Welcome to parenthood indeed! The feeling of utter hopelessness was quite a bit to bear and I must admit I lost it a little. Joe, who was my rock as always, felt the pain also. We were so relieved when we were told on Saturday that he was good to go home and we would not have to spend another night there.

Aaron will spend this week at home with daddy so that he is fully well to return to daycare. Mom has offered to take time off and keep him for a week as well so maybe he will get loads of grandma time next week. We shall see what he, as well as Joe and I, feel comfortable doing.

Tired, grateful and blessed.

Adventures in Decorative Dreaming

So Joe dreamed last night that we moved into a new and larger home. It was all good and cozy except for the kitchen. It seems that the walls were Pepto pink and the floors were pink and green plaid tile. When he told me this my first thought was that I hate Pepto pink and would never paint anything that horrible shade. My second thought was I wonder if anyone does make plaid tile because that would KICK ASS!

One for the Road….

Have the bambino packed and heading out this morning to Greensboro, NC for the rest of the Pinkelton clan to Aaron, or little Joe as I sometimes call him. To prove our ever growing state of geekdom Joe pulled us some listening entertainment. Neill deGrasse Tyson (astrophysicist) and John Hodgeman (all around know-it-all) discussing matters of the world. And my ass is looking forward to it! Want to listen to????

Spring! Wonderful Spring!

Although the sun is in the sky, snow is forecasted for later on this week. Really Mother Nature? I am ready for a wee bit warmer temperatures. Not only do I annually like the sweet smell of spring, I can now fit into my pre-preggers clothing which is so nice. It is like I have a whole new wardrobe.

As I looked through latest Real Simple magazine I saw an ad for Talbot’s with an adorable blouse. I used to think that this place was strictly old lady and cast it off as another shop I waited outside of while my mom shopped their fashions. About two years ago I realized I was wrong when we visited their clearance center and I fell in love with a sweet white cotton embroidered skirt of theirs. I am a sucker for a cute a-line or full skirt. This spring they have an amazing collection of clothing that is all my style! Full skirts, slim cardigans/pull over sweaters and beige and blue! Upon visiting their webpage I fell in love with this skirt…

I deemed it something I must see in real life at the store. I hate it when something looks cute until you see it in person and it looks like it came from Ross(how I HATE that place). So after visiting Aaron’s doctor I stopped by the Talbot’s on Peachtree and fell in love with it. After trying it on and getting that awesome Audrey Hepburn feeling(that means that it is just my style and will never go out of style) I got it. It will be a welcomed addition to my skirt collection that I rely on heavily every season. Really like these shoes but the price is an ouchy! While I am a huge fan of kitten heel slingbacks and flats I really cannot pay $129.00 for them.

I’m off to iron freshly unpacked clothes and pray for a change in this 20 degree forecast!
